Full Orca3D Licenses for Students, Faculty, and Universities
Orca3D educational licenses are full working licenses of the software, giving students, faculty, and schools access to the same core tools used in professional marine design workflows. Educational pricing is intended for qualified academic use in naval architecture or related fields and offers an affordable way to access Orca3D for learning, teaching, and university lab environments.
Students and faculty may qualify for individual educational licenses with proof of eligibility. Universities may also purchase a 30-user lab kit for broader classroom and lab access. Please note that faculty using Orca3D only for paid research and not for teaching must purchase a commercial license.

After you complete your purchase, please send your proof of eligibility to us as soon as possible. Once eligibility has been verified, we will send your License Code.
Educational License Options
Renewal, Updates, and Support
Annual educational licenses may be renewed at educational pricing if the user still qualifies at the time of renewal. If the user no longer qualifies for educational pricing, renewal must be at commercial pricing.
Educational licenses include:
- All minor updates released during the license period
- All major upgrades released during the license period
- Technical support during the active license period

Am I eligible for educational pricing?
You may qualify if you are a student or faculty member in naval architecture or a related field, or if you are purchasing on behalf of a university lab or academic program.
Is the educational license a full version of Orca3D?
Educational licenses are full working licenses of the software, however individual students may not purchase a license of the Orca3D MarineCFD module.
What proof of eligibility do I need to provide?
Students may provide a student ID, current course schedule, or a letter or email from a professor. Faculty may provide proof of employment, such as a faculty listing on the school’s website.
Can faculty use an educational license for paid research?
No. If the software is being used only for paid research and not for teaching, a commercial license is required.
Is Orca3D Marine CFD available to individual students?
No. Orca3D Marine CFD is not offered to individual students under educational pricing.
How do I receive my license code?
After purchase, reply to your confirmation email with proof of eligibility. Once approved, we will send your license code.
What happens when I graduate or no longer qualify?
You may renew at educational pricing only while you still qualify. If you no longer qualify, renewal must be at commercial pricing.
What is included in the University Lab Kit?
The University Lab Kit includes a 30-user network license for the selected Orca3D educational package.

The same restriction applies to persons, no matter where they are located, who appear on the Table of Denial Orders, the Entity List, or the List of Specially Designated Nationals.

A stand-alone license is installed on one computer for use by a single person, while a network license can be installed on multiple computers within the same organization but allows only one user to access the software at a time.
