I had to wipe my disk after a major problem with a Trojan.
Re-installed the OS (XP), re-installed Rhino with latest updates and re-installed Orca.
Everything works but . . .
Opened license manager and entered my license # that I had saved. The license was apparently accepted, it said something like " Orca is now activated" but each time I open or close Rhino, a window tells me that my Orca trial period will expire in X days.

You are running Orca in demo mode.  You must activate your license explicitely for it to be recognised as valid.  However, the Orca3D license database register still shows your license as already registered, therefore "busy".

You should have returned the license before reformatting your hard disc.  Now you cannot return the license anymore because, in practice, it is not on your hard disc any longer.

Please send us an email indicating youir license number and requesting a license reset.  After reset, you will be able to activate your license again.

Ideally, when reformatting a hard drive or transferring your license to a new computer, you would de-activate your license code first.  If you have to reformat your computer without de-activating first, but do not replace the hard drive, you should be able to re-install Orca3D and your license code should still be registered with your computer and therefore no de-activation or activation is necessary.  If you accidentally activate a temporary license code you may have from an educational or upgrade purchase, you will need to email support@orca3d.com to have your permanent license code reset.

I switched motherboards in my computer, not harddisks, and it seems that changed the ID of my computer, and so ORCA3D stopped working (but only after 15... so be warned, if you make a major upgrade like that, its pretty much like trying to install ORCA3D on another PC I guess.  I will say, the friendly ORCA3D team helped me out very quickly.  Oh, I upgraded my video card later and that did not seem to cause any problem...

Problem solved, thank you.
The HD was formatted but since it was the same computer, it recognized the license file I saved.

I couldn't return my license: lost all networking capability.
