I noticed when trying to use the planing analysis that the speed units are in ft/s ( I'm assuming feet per second ? ) ---I looked under the properties menu for orca , and found the units box ---but found it somewhat perplexing and intimidating , and was afraid to touch anything there  . -----I'm also getting an error about not being able to load 'Microsoft report viewer when I attempt to generate a planing report----

First, when getting the error about generating the report; that usually is caused by improper installation. When you install Orca3D, you must run "setup.exe" rather than double-clicking on the .msi file, because this will install the necessary Microsoft components for the Report Viewer. If you did not do this, please uninstall Orca3D, and re-install by double-clicking on setup.exe.

To change the units:
-Select the Orca3D Properties function (from the toolbar or menu)
-Change the Orca3D Units Preferences to Custom (a reminder message will pop-up to say that Length units must be set in the Rhino units dialog)
-click on Show Units
-click on the + sign next to the unit type that you'd like to change (Speed, for example)
-check the box next to the unit that you'd like to us (knot, for example)
-click OK, and then OK in the Properties dialog

Rhino only has one unit type--length, while Orca3D has a whole range of unit types. To avoid confusion, Orca3D only sets these other units, and the Length unit is still set in Rhino's properties dialog.
