Hi,  I thought it was my messed up original model built in other tools and imported to Rhino, but today I quickly generated a sailboat hull with the wizard and when I immediately ran the hydrostatics I also got no Cp, or actually a value of Zero.  Any thoughts?  I am using the WIP4.1 and an uptodate version of Rhino.

Hi Grant:

Probably what is happening is that you haven't defined any sections (stations) in the model. While most of the hydrostatics computations happen on the surface itself, the prismatic, sectional area curve, and maximum section coefficient all require stations to be defined.

Select your model, and then either click on the Sections icon, or from the Orca3D menu, select Sections from the Hull Design menu.

Remember that the calculations are only as good as the station definition of the hull, which means that you must be sure to define enough stations, and that they are spaced such that they capture the shape of the hull (for example, closely spaced on either side of a discontinuity).

Thanks for your question!
