Hi,

during the installation of orca3d demo version the system return this error message: "Riferimento a un oggetto non impostato su un'istanza di oggetto" from "Orca3d installation manager" and immediately later this: "The installer has encountrered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2869" and installation stopped.

The system is a windows 7 home premium 64 bit and rhino 4.0 with SR8

Thanks,
Silvio

Hi Silvio,

first of all Orca3D is a 32bit application (as Rhino v4), and installs normally under Rhino v4 /32 in Windows 7 /64 (I have it on my PC).

By any chance, do you have both Rhino v5 WIP / and Rhino  /v installed on the same PC ?  This might confuse the installer

I would like to see this error, maybe we can web conference tomorrow morning before 10 - I speak italian ?

In the mean time, please try launching the installation as administrator (right click on the installer file, then select run as administator).

If the installation succeeds, the next time you run Rhino please also run it as administator.  This is needed to start the Orca3D license service.

Silvio,

Can you open your Control Panel and then select Programs and verify that you have Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 installed?  If not, you can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en

This is a required file for Orca3D to run, which is usually already installed.

Best Regards,

Justin
